CALCA by Year
What?
Why?
To encourage and recognize outstanding achievements in exterior preservation, exterior restoration, exterior rehabilitation and new construction within historic areas of Calcasieu Parish.
Who?
Presentaton
The awards are to be presented annually at the Society's January Membership Meeting. The date on the certificate refers to the year the building received the award. In addition to the certificate, the recipients are given a complementary membership for one year in the Calcasieu Historic Preservation Society.
Nomination
The nomination form or written request should be completed and returned to the CHPS and should state reasons why you feel the property should receive the award. Before and after photos of the property should be attached or e-mailed, if possible.
Deternmination
Award nominations are accepted by the CHPS Landmarks Committee with a nominating deadline of September 1st. All nominations are reviewed by the committee with recommendations for selection then made to the Society's Board of Directors. The Board of Directors then makes the final selection of award recipients.
